Jeffrey ran a workshop on motivation and target setting for a group of our students. He worked closely with us to understand the students’ needs before proposing a variety of approaches in the design of the workshop. During the workshop, students were engaged by Jeffrey's skillful facilitation and narrative telling, and they emerged from the workshop inspired and motivated to execute the concrete plans to achieve the individual and group targets and incentives that they have set for themselves. The students also appreciated how after the workshop, Jeffrey continued to check in on their progress and encourage them to strive towards their targets.

OUR CLIENT STORY

Jeff comes to Teen Challenge to run full day workshops with our students who are in recovery from addictions to substance abuse. These men are learning how to live new lives free from these addictions and Jeff’s workshops were very welcomed by the students.
The first one was “Turning Setbacks to Success” and naturally the students had many setbacks in their lives so the themes of rebuilding self-confidence, self-esteem, and turning those setbacks into stepping stones and developing roadmaps for future success were very relevant to their growth.
The second workshop, “Re-entry program” was about knowing their purpose, identifying their strengths and their continued roadmap and commitments. Again, these themes were a very necessary teaching tool for their continued growth.
Jeff is a very entertaining workshop leader, but also very knowledgeable regarding his topic. The students interacted well with him and the feedback was very positive. I believe Jeff is passionate about all the work he does - he gives himself challenges to work towards and is a vibrant man when working towards both the things he loves and those challenges too.

My office recently had the pleasure of being involved with the Youth Max Program and meeting students who completed the course at Darlington Primary School. I know there are many deserving programs run by community groups and I appreciate they can’t all receive funding but reports about the benefits of this program were very impressive.
This program is designed to teach students how to deal with setbacks and disappointments and give them the tools to turn these negatives into positives and how best to respond to what life may throw at them

"The way the program was delivered with a mix of media and up front speaking allowed for a lot of engagement and interactive participation.
When asked if the students would recommend the program be run again in 2019, 90% said they would look forward to doing it again or would recommend for next year’s Grade 7 class. As a teacher and parent I found the sessions to be informative and inspiring. I would strongly recommend that the program be funded to run again in schools for 2019"

"Jeffrey Tan conducted YouthMax Plus at St. Andrew’s Secondary School (SASS) in 2017 for 22 boys. This camp was organised by the chaplaincy team from Chapel of the Holy Spirit (CHS). He ensured that the program remained relevant and interesting to the boys. They enjoyed themselves very much and many of them signed up for subsequent camps organised by CHS.
One key learning point for the boys was how to turn setbacks to stepping stones for success" -

I was offered Jeff's name after suddenly losing my husband four years ago. He was immediately able to begin to guide my in a positive direction with consolidating my finances.
He carefully listened to my hopes and plans while at the same time allowed me time to be able to take time to work out what my future might look like and how best to organise my finances. This meant that I didn't have to make any hasty decisions at a difficult time but rather wait until things began to fall in to place and I could see more clearly God's call for the next season of my life.

His manner and intention was clearly to put the clients best interest first, helping me to develop knowledge and language to empower me on my future journey with my financial decisions.
I found Jeffory to be a Godly and honest man who is generous in his time, in his commitment to my situation going above and beyond with a spirit of professional excellence
